We have travelled across the country, met with every major (and quite a few minor) spa products vendors and distributors, and tested just about every lotion, soak, scrub, nail varnish, and treatment available before deciding which products we would allow into our space. After much deliberation, we arrived at the following products, we are confident that they provide the greatest benefit at the best value to our clients:
SpaRitual is the supplier of choice to some of the World’s most exclusive spas and resorts, and we are proud that it is the supplier of all our nail varnishes and the vast majority of our manicure and pedicure products. Not only are all their products 100% vegan and “cruelty free”, but their passion is for creating wonderful and luxurious spa products formulated with the best organic and “wildcrafted” ingredients available. SpaRitual nail varnishes are, and have always been, free of Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP and Toluene, chemicals which have been linked to cancer and birth defects. As of 2008, three of the four chemicals have been banned in nail varnishes by the European Union. www.sparitual.com
We were all set to provide acrylic nails in our salon. That was until one of us got very ill from over-exposure to acrylic nail fumes. At that point we decided, for the sake of not only our clients but also our staff, not to allow something that could make someone that sick into our space. We understood that it was probably a horrible business decision, but we felt that if we could not find a good alternative, we would provide natural nail services exclusively. Then we learned about gel nails, and found the alternative we wanted. Unlike acrylic nails, gel nails looked and felt much like polished nails, and they maintained that freshly polished look for weeks with no major maintenance. With gel nails, there is no filing or drilling; it is brushed on like normal polish and cured under a special lamp. Like acrylic, gel can be used to extend shorter nails to fashionable lengths, but unlike acrylic nails there are no significant vapors, dust, and fumes. As with everything else in our salon, we did not want o use a product, just because it was the most widely used or best marketed. We needed to find what we felt was truly the best, and, after testing every gel available in the market, we decided that Bio Sculpture Gel is it. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than others, but with its ease of use; wide selection of colors; and most importantly, ability to be removed by simply soaking off without the need for drilling or aggressive filing, we trust that everyone will agree that Bio Sculpture Gel is the best gel product out there, bar none. www.biosculpture.com
After testing numerous innovative scrubs for skin exfoliation, we decided on an ancient traditional scrub rooted deep within our ancestral history. Originally created exclusively for the royal houses in Asia, this scrub has been used for hundreds of years by Korean aristocracy for its exfoliating and conditioning properties. Made of 100% all natural, food grade ingredients, if we were to handle it and prepare it properly, it could be a nutritious meal. Please note that as used in our salon, it should not be eaten.
As mentioned before everything used within our salon has been tested by us, and we feel confident it will meet the needs of even the most discerning client. However, we continue to constantly test and try new and different products to ensure we are always providing products which offer the greatest benefit at the best value to our clients. This is our mission and our passion. |
